Our Guides

As a young boy I always felt drawn to the mountains. The raw power and beauty of the wilderness made it a place I wanted to learn more about. The idea of Pure Mountain Adventure has been in motion since college. After a two-year diploma from Lakeland College I set out to Jasper National Park to make my mark. I have over 10 years experience in the mountain parks and am certified as an interpretive guide.

In addition to guiding, I've had the opportunity to work at Fairmont Hotels and Resorts for years, learning to create a five star experience. Pure Mountain Adventure aspires to go above and beyond your tour and first aid expectations.

In June 2007 Pure Mountain Adventure became a company committed to life outside and hands on first aid training. We are offering first aid classes and tours in the Canadian Rockies. Come walk a mile in our shoes and let us take you on your next adventure experience. We love what we do and that makes us passionate about sharing our experience with you.

Everyone that works for my company has a passion for the mountains and a zest for life. All our guides are well educated and certified for the Mountain Parks. Next time you think of an adventure, Think Pure.

Something New

The prototypical family car of the 21st century

In the event you need three rows of chairs but don't desire a big, parched full size vehicle, and aren't ready to succumb to the complete domestication of a minivan, welcome to the midsize SUV market. Mid-size SUVs aren't as large as either of these two options that are best, but they're better-suited for foul-weather driving than multi-purpose vehicles, thanks to higher ground settlement and widely accessible all-wheel-drive, and and they are more successful and more workable than full-size SUVs.

Mid-size vehicle shoppers also enjoy more choices, with no less than 10 strong options vying for his or her family bucks. And this Buyer's Guide is the best spot to begin the trip of picking the one that is right. The SUVs are listed in order of recognition, predicated on current sales numbers.

What's New

Searching further forward, the 2018 model-year will include an all-new Chevrolet Sail (beneath) and Volkswagen's first 3-row vehicle, the 2018 Atlas, each which should occur round the middle of 20 17.

Head to Head

For our latest mid-size SUV comparison test we lay out to our nearby hills on a round about course, and collected Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Highlander, a Honda Pilot, Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento. Nothing delivers brings forth like driving it back to back with its closest competitors a vehicle personality.

Crossover or SUV?

The initial SUVs were assembled like trucks, with human anatomy-on-frame construction. But car- such as unibody construction gives better fuel handling, ride and efficiency, therefore that's how many of today's sport utility vehicle-looking vehicles are assembled. It really is all upside, since few purchasers require the added off road ruggedness or towing skill that the truck-like structure can provide. And for people who do, full-size SUVs such as the Chevy Tahoe and Sub Urban, Ford Trip and Toyota Sequoia are nonetheless according to full size trucks.

Common Themes

Most mid size SUVs start cost coming in around $37, 000 finally check . into $40,000 variety, together with the average transaction around $30, 000 away nicely The Durango also offers a V8 -- although each offers a V-6 engine -- many entirely and also the Traveler gives turbo-charged alternatives including an effectiveness-centered turbo charged 4-canister and also an electrical-focused turbo V 6. All mid-size SUVs can be found with all-wheel drive.

Big Differences

Seating capacity, ease of accessibility to driver and the next row /passenger storage space are some of the differences that are essential to consider when considering mid size SUVs. While the others max away at seven, the Highlander and Traverse provide seats for up to 8. Choosing for 2nd-strip skipper recliners when available may ease entry to the strip that is next -- particularly useful for households wearing two automobile seats -- but it reduces seating ability by one position. The Ford Pilot is positively minivan-like in its front-row storage alternatives, standing in contrast to the Dodge Durango that is relatively stingy.
